How to Create a Baby Website Template in Photoshop
Hello and welcome to another tutorial!
Today I will create another tutorial, here on Artbox.com/blog and this time I have chosen to create a template related to babies, and I hope it will be useful for many of you.
To create this baby template you will need the following:
1. Photoshop
2. Complete Designer Set (because I will use some vector icons from this set but you may replace with your own designs)
Here is my final result:
Creating the logo and navigation
1. Open a new document with the following dimensions 1020X1120 and as a background color choose: #eae5ce
2. Select Rectangle Tool and create a similar shape. I have used this color: # c7d23f. Then using the type tool I will add some text on the top right side

3. Next I will select ellipse tool and I will make a similar shape on the left side. As a color I have chosen # f3efdf

4. Now I make sure that the layer for this shape is selected and I will go to Edit> Transform > Wrap
5. Using the mouse I will edit some points to make the shape looks unusual.

6. Next I will apply an Inner Shadow to this shape:

7. In Complete Designer Set I will search some Icons related to kids, babies. I will open them first in Illustrator and from here I will drag and drop the selected icon in Photoshop

8. Now I will add some text . The logo is now finished. Here’s my result:

9. Next I will create the top navigation: select Rectangle tool and create a similar shape using this color: #c4bc9a
10. Make sure that the you select the layer for the shape created on the step 9, and change the Blending Mode to Soft Light and then apply the following layer styles:

11. Using Type tool add some text for the navigation. I have used Tempus Sans ITC font with the following layer styles:

12. Next I will create the header. For that please select Rectangle Tool and create a similar shape. As a color I have used #b44000 and also I have applied a stroke.

13. Now from Complete Designer Set I will use an vector icon showing a funny baby and I will place it on the right side of the header
Maybe you will ask, why I don’t use regular icons (raster graphics) instead of vectorized icons. The answer is quite simple, with vector icons you can resize them whatever you’d like (you can increase or decrease the size) without losing quality. With raster icons (regular icons) you can only decrease the size, if you’d like to modify it again (and you will need to increase the size) you will see that the icons will become blurry and pixilated. That’s why in our Complete Designer Set we have included only vector icons.
Here’s a simple example:
Vector Icons vs Regular Icons (raster graphic)
In this example I have used only vector icons from our Complete Designer Set.
Next you will see the difference between vector icons and raster icons. This is the same icon used above but it was rasterized in Photoshop. The jpg, png, gif format means that the icon is in raster format. I would like to mention that from vector icons you can create raster icons (you can export it in many formats such as jpg, png, gif, etc) but from raster icon (jpg, png, gif) you can’t create vector icons. That’s why we have created all of our icons from Complete Designer Set in vector format.
I hope everything is clear now. I have made this clarification because I have received many emails asking what’s the difference between vector icons and regular icons…
Now let’s get back to our tutorial….
14.Using ellipse tool, I will add an white shape beyond the kid and then I will apply a Gaussian blur with a radios of 63.6px

15. Next using the type tool (T) I will add a slogan. I have used the following layer styles:

16. With type tool selected I will add a description
17. Next, at the bottom of the header (left side) I will create 2 buttons (Call to Action Buttons). Select Rounded Rectangle Tool (radius 20) and create a similar button:

18. Then apply the following layer styles:

19.Next using type tool (T) add your desired text. I have added See More and Order Now.

Well the header is now finished. And we have few more steps and we finish the layout also.
The next step would be to create the content area
20. For that, select rectangle tool and create a white shape like mine. Please make sure that you place this white shape behind the red shape created for header.

Next I will populate this area. I will use both, type tool and Complete Designer Set to add text and icons. My result:

The content area is finished now.
Now the last step would be to create the footer which is really easy. Using rectangle tool I will create a shape (as a color I have used #c7d23f) and then with type tool I have typed a copyright text.
Here’s the final preview:
Well the tutorial is finished now. I hope you have had a nice read and If you haven’t bought yet our Complete Designer Set, I suggest you to do so, because you will find plenty of vectors, brushes and icons to play with and of course to create astonishing tutorials.
Have a great day!
